Thanksgiving Turkey

Servings (8 - 12 people)

Ingredients:

  • 1 turkey, 15 to 18 pounds
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 4 cloves crushed garlic
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 ½ stick butter
  • Chopped parsley
  • Salt to taste


Ingredients for the filling (stuffing)

  • 1 chopped onion
  • 3 strips chopped bacon
  • 3 stalks chopped celery
  • 1 loaf of chopped baguette bread
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • Chopped rosemary leaves (take from 3 sprigs)
  • Thyme leaves (take from 3 twigs)
  • Orange juice
  • Salt to taste and pepper


Let's prepare this turkey!

Wash the turkey and dry with a paper towel. Season by mixing with the wine, garlic, pepper, and salt to taste. Wet the turkey with this mixture, put butter on all sides and under the skin so that it is juicy. You can do it the night before, leaving it well covered in the refrigerator, in a deep baking container.

For the filling, cut the bread into cubes and bake until crispy. In a pan add butter, bacon, onion, celery, cranberries, chopped herbs, cook for 2 minutes. Add the bread little by little, stirring in the orange juice, salt and pepper, mix well and put this mixture inside the cavity of the turkey. Tie with kitchen twine so the filling doesn't come out. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F, now bake for 3 to 4 hours, checking every 2 hours and moistening the skin with the liquid it releases. Once the time has passed, take out the turkey, remove the thread, decorate the sides to your liking. Bon appetit with blessings!


Cranberry Sauce to accompany the turkey

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 4 cups of blueberries (cramberry)
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 1 pinch of salt (one chin)


Let's prepare this sauce!

In a pot, heat the sugar and orange juice, boil for 5 minutes, add the cranberries, orange zest, a pinch of salt and that's it, put it in the fridge until you are ready to serve! 'it's so good!
